The first official details about the new Peugeot 308 have arrived, so let’s take a closer look.
According to Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato, the new 308 will originally ship as a mild hybrid (no charging capability), but may eventually become available as a full-fledged PHEV, too.
If Peugeot succeeds in making a fashion statement with its electrified hatchback, other PSA Group brands – specifically, Citroen and Opel/Vauxhall – will likely feel obliged to follow its example, starting a shift towards the PHEV/EV segment of the market.
