The renowned French car manufacturer Peugeot has released Carabinieri, a police-oriented series of its high-end Peugeot 308 GTi hatchback. The vehicle was developed especially with the needs of law enforcement agencies in mind.
Predictably enough, the new Peugeot 308 GTi Carabinieri sports the colors of la Polizia – blue, white, and red. The special edition of the car comes pre-equipped with a full set of flashing lights, auxiliary signal systems, radios, and other commonly used equipment.The police-oriented Peugeot 308 GTi Carabinieri gets to keep its stock 1.6-liter THP engine rated at 272 horsepower. Driven by it, the car makes it to 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in around 6 seconds.
Nonetheless, Peugeot has actually invited famous Italian racing pilot Paolo Andreucci to give instructions to the would-be drivers of this new Peugeot 308 GTi. The company explained that driving a powerful car like this without prior experience or training would be simply irresponsible.
