Peugeot has a bunch of crossovers on the market already, but the blue Peugeot 308 wagon pictured on these spy shots seems like it could be undergoing some secret surgery under that test mule bod.
See for yourself: the car may look inconspicuous at first, but it rides pretty high and has very poorly aligned panels near the doors and the fenders. All in all, our bet is on it being a test mule for an SUV-shaped Peugeot 308.
Furthermore, now is probably the best time for the French automaker to expand its 308 lineup. The current generation has only just debuted in five-door hatchback and wagon flavors, receiving a couple of awards shortly after the launch. It would make sense for Peugeot to exploit this popularity by offering a coupe/SUV variant of the model (normal SUV body would make it compete for customers with the 3008).
The last two photos show another vehicle following the blue test mule. It has the same body outlines and proportions as the 308 Hatchback, but with more ground clearance, a slightly different c-pillar, and a sharply slanted roof.
