Peugeot E-308 debuts with 402 kilometers of range in Europe

Peugeot delivers on its promise of an all-electric 308 model by introducing the E-308, a car with a very similar design outside and inside and the same platform as its gas-guzzling counterpart.

A closer look reveals new 18-inch wheels aerodynamically optimized to guarantee maximum range. The range is WLTP-rated at 402 kilometers, or 250 miles, which is made possible thanks to a next-gen traction battery with 51 kilowatt-hours of useful capacity. The pack consists of 80% nickel, 10% manganese and 10% cobalt. When plugged in to a 100kW charger, replenishing the charge from 20 to 80 percent is possible within just 25 minutes.

Available in hatchback and wagon flavors, the E-308 utilizes the company’s recently designed electric motor rated at 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The specifics have not yet been revealed.

Peugeot says the sales will start in the second half of 2023, with the customers choosing from two main trim levels called Allure and GT.
