Clemens Motorsport, a France-based car house that usually specializes in engine tuning and customization of DS, Citroen and Peugeot vehicles, has released three engine performance upgrades for the top-spec Peugeot 308 GTi.
The production vehicle normally ships with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine rated at 272 hp / 203 kW and 330 Nm / 243 lb·ft of torque. It accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 6 seconds.
The first stage of the upgrade boosts the engine to 290 hp (216 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb·ft). The second one takes it further to 303 hp (226 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb·ft). This necessitates the installation of an intercooler, a better injection system and a more performance-friendly air filter.
The third and final upgrade stage offers a boost to 310 hp (231 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb·ft) and involves installing an advanced stainless-steel exhaust system, an even higher-grade air filter and an overhauled injection system.
With the Stage 3 upgrade applied, the Peugeot 308 GTi reaches the 100 km/h mark in 4.6 seconds.
To highlight the increased performance, the tuning house suggests outfitting the hatchback with a set of either 19” or 20” design wheels.
