An unusual Peugeot 806 went up on sale in Belgium. Created a quarter of a century ago as part of an ad campaign between Peugeot and Procar, Kronos Racing piloted it during the 24 Hours of Spa endurance race.
The car started its life as a standard production MPV which was subsequently torn down to the last screw, lightened as much as possible, and fitted with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine based on the cylinder block of the Peugeot 306 Maxi rally car. The mill churned out 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW), and the suspension, transmission and brakes were all borrowed from a Peugeot 406 Supertourisme.
Piloted by Pascal Witmeur, the minivan ranked 12th in the qualification run, but never made it to the finish line during the actual race due to the brakes, the differential and ultimately the engine failing in that order.
