Peugeot has begun unveiling a car that might become its next all-electric flagship. Judging by the first teaser video, it will be called the e-5008 and represent the battery version of the regular 5008 SUV. The full reveal is planned for March, so let’s take a look in the meantime.
Based on the video, the next generation of the Peugeot 5008 has a completely redesigned interior. It’s official now that the SUV gets the company’s new Panoramic i-Cockpit cabin with a 21-inch curved display dominating the dashboard. The steering wheel, the immersive ambient lighting and the transmission tunnel are all new as well.
Some of the trim details can also be seen, and it looks like the e-5008 has seven seats, just like its ICE cousin. All powertrain details remain secret, though.
Car spotters nabbed down the e-5008 as it was being tested on the streets last fall. It looked slightly boxier on the outside than the current generation, but still sporty and about the same size.
