Peugeot reveals specs of the 508 Sport Engineered hybrid

French car manufacturer Peugeot has revealed some details concerning its newest hybrid-powered concept car, the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered. The vehicle will arrive at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland starting in a fortnight.

The model is loosely based on the main 508 Hybrid series. It comes powered with a 1.6-liter turbo engine rated at 200 hp (149 kW) and two electric motors contributing 112 hp (84 kW) and 203 hp (151 kW) of their own. The car sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and can cover up to 50 kilometers (31 miles) on its batteries alone.

In contrast to the mass-issue liftback, the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered sports conspicuous large air intakes in the front bumper, winglets, a new rear diffusor, lowered suspension, performance brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Inside, the concept car houses an asymmetrical steering wheel draped with suede and decorated with carbon inserts, as well as the company’s trademark i-Cockpit dashboard, bent gear selector, new ergonomic seats and fine upholstery.

It remains unknown whether the prototype vehicle ever makes it into production.
