New Peugeot 508 to premiere soon

The French automaker Peugeot has scheduled the presentation of the next-generation update of its Peugeot 508 sedan for the 88th Geneva International Motor Show on March 8 through 18, 2018. The car is mainly targeted towards Europe and Asia regions where it’s going to compete with the BMW 3-Series and Volkswagen Arteon. That’s how the senior management of the brand sees it, at least.

The new Peugeot 508 will be assembled on the EMP2 platform and look like a fusion of design solutions we have seen implemented in such concepts as Instinct or Exalt. Among other things, there will be a reshaped radiator grille, new bumpers, and restyled LED headlamps.

The interior design of the car will follow the strict guidelines of the i-Cockpit brand book. You may get an idea of what it means if you peek inside a next-gen Peugeot 3008 or 5008. The main difference, however, comes in the form of an all-digital dashboard which replaced numerous analogue instruments and controls.

All data we currently have in regard to the engine of the new car is limited to speculation. An educated guess can be made that the car will be available with a 1.2L turbocharged gasoline engine and at least two diesels – 1.6L and 2.0L. A hybrid version of the Peugeot 508 sedan with 300+ hp total power output may be released later as well.
