An unusual concept vehicle by Peugeot will debut this year at the Geneva International Motor Show. Named Rifter like its parent van but with an added ‘4x4’ suffix, it will primarily target those who like to abandon their crowded cities for a few days off in wilderness.
To begin with, the van comes with a ground clearance full 80 mm (3.125”) higher than in the base model and can thus traverse roads that are off-limits to the latter. Apart from its titular all-wheel drive, the new Peugeot Rifter 4x4 comes with a camping tent which can be easily installed on its roof.
The engine compartment of the new van conceals a 1.5L diesel with 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Its wheels wear heavy-duty tires with excellent grip for extra off-road performance.
In its base package, the new Peugeot Rifter 4x4 also comes with an electric bicycle and a powerful roof-mounted light bar.
