Ultra-rare Pininfarina driving sim underway to auction, costs $164k

Apparently, Pininfarina does more than come up with gorgeous car designs. The Italian coachbuilder assembled nine driving simulators on its Cambiano factory, and one of these is currently heading to an auction scheduled for September 17.

The estimated price of the sim rig named the Leggenda eClassic Simulator is estimated at U.S. $164,000. Pininfarina designed it with assistance from Classic Car Trust (TCCT) to let aspiring drivers experience the authentic feeling of driving a classic car. Design-wise, this particular example looks styled after a 1940s-era two-seat Grand Tourer, although it can only accommodate one person.

The cabin comes wrapped in light brown leather, while the exterior sports a classic Argento Vivo finish. The main feature comes in the form of a giant curved display looming over the cabin. The simulator database contains all major racetracks from all around the world.
