Pininfarina Battista Mk2 debuts at a private party

A new version of the Pininfarina Battista has made an appearance before select audience at a private event in the United States. Its main selling point is an extra 50 km (30 miles) of driving range, which the company hopes will bolster sales in North America.

The original Battista hypercar premiered this spring packing an all-electric powertrain rated at 1,900 horsepower (1,417 kilowatts). Its manufacturer-rated top speed amounts to 350 km/h (217 mph), and sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) occurs in two seconds flat.

The first Battista had 450 kilometers (280 miles) of range, but the manufacturer resolved to improve these numbers before the sales launch. Now, the vehicle can cover up to 500 km (310 mi) before charging becomes necessary.

Another novelty by Pininfarina comes in the form of the Pura Vision Concept, a design study that offers a glimpse at the marque’s new design philosophy. Rumor has it that the Pura Vision Concept may ultimately give birth to an all-electric sedan/saloon with 600 km (373 miles) of range, which is allegedly scheduled for premiere in 2020.
