The Pininfarina Battista boasts superb acceleration dynamics, but it is only now that the company got around to proving that it is the fastest-accelerating street-legal production car ever made.
The standard sprint time for the Battista amounts to a record-low 1.79 seconds. As impressive as that may be, it also demonstrates exceptionally efficient deceleration capabilities. Specifically, the hypercar needs around 31 meters (101.7 feet) to go from 96.6 km/h (60 miles per hour) to a standstill. Pininfarina says the data is officially confirmed and constitutes a new record for mass-produced cars.
With a top speed of 349 km/h (217 mph), the all-electric Battista may not be the fastest hypercar around, but it surely is extremely fast by EV standards.
According to Paolo Dellachà, CTO of Automobili Pininfarina, these results were achieved thanks to a perfect weight distribution and low center of gravity.
The car – which tips the scales at 1,900 kilos, or 4,190 pounds, by the way – went into production in July and is already shipping. Each client paid at least €2,200,000 for their example.
