At a public event in Tokyo, Japan, Automobili Pininfarina has presented a bespoke take on its first production hypercar, the all-electric Battista. Called the Cinquantacinque (Italian for “55”), it is a one-off commission for an anonymous client, paying homage to the famous Lancia Florida prototype dating back to 1955.
The hypercar wears a Blu Savoia Gloss finish contrasted by a Bianco Sestriere Gloss top. The interior uses generous amounts of carbon fiber and Poltrona Frau brown leather. It also sports the lettering “Cinquantacinque 55” at the underside of the active rear wing and in the cabin.
The tech stays stock, but that’s by no means a bad thing. The Battista utilizes four individually managed e-motors installed one per wheel for a combined output of 1,900 PS (1,874 hp / 1,397 kW) and 2,340 Nm (1,726 lb-ft) of torque. A lithium-ion battery delivers it up to 120 kilowatt-hours of juice, which is enough for 476 km (295 miles) of driving range under optimal conditions. The car sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.86 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
No more than 150 units will be made worldwide including all possible spin-offs and special editions, Pininfarina says. Prices start at a cool €2 million (U.S. $2.16 million).
