Few nowadays remember the iconic Plymouth Barracuda, which was a rather nice pony car back in its era and not really much inferior to the likes of the Ford Mustang. A restored example cropped up on sale in the USA recently that made us like it even more.
The body of the car looks better than new if you count the stylish white livery with red stripes on it. 18-inch XXR wheels adorn the arches along with Bridgestone Potenza tires, allowing a sneak peek at Wilwood brakes behind the spokes. AlterKtion coilovers allow for height adjustment, and a Reiley MotorSports sway bar ensures you stay on track even in sharp, fast curves.
The cabin has been done over from scratch with a new dashboard, HVAC, bucket seats wrapped in leather and an infotainment system with navigation, linked to a high-end audio system. Despite the extensive modifications, the interior still pulls off that much-desired retro look.
A glimpse under the hood reveals a naturally aspirated Chrysler HEMI V8 with ceramic-coated manifolds, Mopar wiring, and a four-speed automatic transmission with an Overdrive function. Numbers aren’t available, but a restored classic from 1969 is bound to have enough thrust with an engine like this.
