The Polestar 2 liftback will be entering the year 2022 in the USA with a one-motor version priced lower than a two-motor one and having more range to boot.
A similar specification has been available for a while in Europe, but not in North America, where sales will begin late this year.
According to the manufacturer’s website, the single-motor variant will have 228 U.S. horsepower (231 metric hp / 170 kilowatts). It will be obtainable from $45,900 before incentives, but factor those in, and you may be looking at an end price of just $34,900.
EPA-rated driving range amounts to 265 miles, or 426 kilometers. The dual-motor version lags considerably behind with 248 mi (400 km). It is also considerably more expensive at $38,900 after all incentives.
The refreshed Polestar 2 lineup will be available with three option packs called Plus, Pilot, and Performance. The first one contains a panoramic sunroof, an advanced audio system, and WeaveTech upholstery. The second one prioritizes driving aids and safety. The Performance package includes adjustable Öhlins shocks, Continental tires, 20-inch forged wheels, and Brembo brakes.
