Polestar to launch EV production in Europe

Electric car maker Polestar considers Europe an essential market and will be opening an industrial complex there, Automotive News Europe reports quoting the CEO of the brand. The factory is expected to be completed in five years and start its production with an all-new Polestar 7.

There is still nothing known about the model number 7 – not even the body style. Despite being conceptualized as a European car first and foremost, the company expects to sell it in other countries as well.

As it stands right now, Polestar is more of a Chinese automaker than European. Its only mass-market model on offer right now – the Polestar 2 featured in the gallery and the video here – is currently being produced in Luqiao. However, with the coming of the Polestar 3 SUV next year, the company will be opening another assembly site in the United States. The next three models are expected to be made exclusively in China, though.
