If you always wanted your Polestar 3 to keep telling you whenever you are tired or distracted, you will like a new feature coming to the market. Called DMS, it will debut at the CES show on January 5, 2023.
All visitors will be able to check out the dual camera the feature is based upon, which is simultaneously monitoring the state of the driver’s eyelids, their eye direction and head angle. The company will also demonstrate how the software scans and assesses the state of the person behind the steering wheel in real time.
The camera duo is plugged into the central PC on board. If the system finds an issue with the attention or physical state of the driver, it will first flash a warning message and then play back a warning sound. Drivers who ignore these warnings will have their car emergency-parked in automatic mode.
