The Volvo industrial complex in South Carolina has started assembling Polestar 3 SUVs, marking the first time the Swedish premium EV marque made a car outside of China.
Until recently, Polestar had only produced its electric vehicles in China. The factory in the United States will supply cars to a number of markets in North America and Europe.
Aside from the above, the automaker has announced another expansion of its manufacturing geography coming in mid-2025. The Polestar 4 is scheduled for production at the Renault-Geely joint enterprise in South Korea (formerly known as the Renault-Samsung factory).
