The automaker has confirmed that the upcoming all-electric crossover SUV named Polestar 3 will be assembled in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
All cars coming out of the factory mentioned above will be sold exclusively in the United States, Polestar reports. 25 new dealerships will be opened until the end of the year, offering delivery services, maintenance, and test-drives.
According to the manufacturer, localizing the production in Ridgeville, SC will accelerate all assembly and shipment processes while keeping the costs low. The car itself will look much like the design study called Precept, which you can see in our gallery and the video here. It will run on a brand-new all-electric platform designed by Volvo Car Group, which supports many advanced features like autopilot.
The Polestar 3 should celebrate its official premiere later this year and go into production in 2022.
