The Polestar 4 is a €55k alternative to the Macan EV

According to Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath, the company has plans to design and produce a smaller battery CUV than the Polestar 3, which will be called Polestar 4 and come in at around €20,000 below it.

This means the newcomer will cost around €55,000, which is comparable to another major player on the market, the Porsche Macan EV. The company hopes that this combination of affordability and performance will result in a sales hit for years to come.

Nothing is being said about motorization and power output to date. Ingenlath points out that the 4 is being conceptualized as a compact coupe-SUV with plenty of interior space despite the compactness. It is also being designed with a striking, aerodynamic exterior.

Like other Polestar models, the 4 will be based on the modified SEA platform by Volvo and Geely. The Geely factory in China will handle the production, and sales are set to begin a year after the launch of the Polestar 3, in 2023. Later on, another new model named the Polestar 5 will join the lineup. The teaser image shows what looks like another coupe-like crossover even smaller than the 4; no other details are available.
