Polestar has revealed the first image of a crossover SUV known simply as the 7, set for launch sometime in 2026. It is being co-designed with Volvo, which is working on a clone of the same model to be released ahead of its Polestar twin.
The teaser image doesn’t reveal much aside from the general outlines and the DRLs. The front end looks rather flat and almost vertical, but a closer look wouldn’t hurt.
The automaker claims that, despite being packed with Volvo technology, the car will look and feel like a true Polestar. In turn, Volvo let it slip that its own variant of this model will run on the latest SPA3 architecture powered by next-generation motors. Until 2028, Volvo plans to release two SPA3-based EVs of its own design.
Both the Polestar 7 and its Volvo-badged counterpart will be produced at a new factory currently being constructed by Volvo Cars in Košice, Slovakia. It will be the company’s third factory in Europe, and is expected to produce up to 250,000 vehicles per year.
