56 years old, 750 horses strong: Pontiac 2+2 restomod outperforms expectations

Illinois-based tuning company Roadster Shop has made quite a name for itself building quality restomods – not just roadsters, in fact. This 1966 Pontiac 2+2 revived in as-new condition is their latest creation.

Perhaps most crucially, the team moved the vivid turquoise body of the car onto a modern chassis. The entire exterior styling was carefully preserved including the numerous chrome parts, but the boring stock wheels made room for a Greening AC chromed set boasting a retro-futuristic aesthetic.

Inside, you can find green leather on the center console, a touchscreen display and a refreshed three-spoke steering wheel. The gauges look analog, but are in fact Dakota Digital screens.

Power comes from a Wegner Automotive V8 with 6.2 liters of displacement and 750 horsepower (~560 kilowatts) at the output end. The rest of the drivetrain benefits from appropriate reinforcements. As far as we know, it is fully street-legal, but should be enjoyable on the track as well.
