This Pontiac GTO pretending it’s a Lambo Aventador thinks it’s worth $50k

Select few can afford a genuine Lamborghini Aventador, but does this justify buying a kind-of-similar-looking fake? Let us take a closer look.

The owner of this 16-year-old Pontiac GTO had it outfitted with custom GFRP bodywork that perhaps looks more or less decent at the front end, where the air intakes, the headlights and the hood do their best to imitate the Aventador. The sides and the rear are a far shot from original, though.

A pleasant surprise can be found under the hood, where the stock 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 was boosted to around 500 horsepower (375 kilowatts). In theory, this should make this GTO a fun car to drive. In practice, however, the stock four-speed auto transmission and front-engine/RWD layout will never give quite the feel of the Italian mid-engined sports car.

The ride has been recently listed on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $49,000.
