Marvel at this one-off, 406-PS Pontiac Solstice roadster

Michael Jonas of Stainless Steel Brake Corporation was disappointed to learn that the Pontiac Solstice was getting only 264 PS (260 hp / 194 kW) from its four-pot. He heard word that Mallet Performance Cars was working on a V8 swap for the Solstice and contacted the tuning company.

Through a lucky coincidence, it turned out that Mallett was just looking for a brake supplier for its project. Without further ado, the two companies teamed up and created this Solstice roadster with a massive LS2 V8 under the hood and 406 PS (400 hp / 298 kW) at its disposal.

The stock five-speed manual transmission received a custom bellhousing and a LuK Pro Gold coupling. Further modifications were made in the cooling system, manifolds and suspension, the latter including new dampers and height-adjustable springs.

The unique white roadster with sporty blue stripes will go on sale at Mecum’s in several days, and is estimated between $60,000 and $75,000.
