John Oates – a guitar player, singer and member of the Hall & Oates rock band that used to be popular in the 1980s – has recently visited Emory Motorsports asking for an “ideal Porsche 356”.
The tuner has found a suitable Porsche 356B Cabriolet issued all the way back in the 1960s. Its front part was damaged, so they replaced it with donor parts taken from a 356A. Then they fitted it with a removable hard top and new bumpers (also courtesy of the 356A).
They then ditched the factory seats for new low-back, vintage-style seats draped in cognac-hued leather. They also fitted the car with a roll cage that can easily be removed when not needed.
Finally, the bespoke Porsche 356 gained a brand-new 2.4-liter Emory Outlaw-4 engine rated at 200 hp (150 kW), a five-speed manual transmission and rear drive.
How do you like the result?
