The new Porsche Taycan experiences temperature extremes in 30 countries all over the world

Luxury vehicle manufacturer Porsche has posted new images showing its upcoming Taycan SUV running all sorts of extreme driving tests in 30 different countries around the world. The car should premiere sometime later this year.

The company has been lately taking its development mules on journeys to the Middle East, Scandinavia, and South Africa, with temperatures ranging between -35 and +50 degrees Celsius (-31…+122 ºF).

Seven months before Porsche built the first physical prototype of the Taycan, it created a simulated computer version of it and took it through a series of tests on a simulated North Loop circuit of Nürburgring. The digital car has covered 10,000,000 kilometers (ca. 6,215,000 miles) of the virtual racetrack during this test phase, enabling the engineer department to test the stability and overall performance of its chassis, engine, electronics, and bodywork.

The vehicle will arrive on the international market packing a duo of electric engines (one per axles) jointly rated at 600 hp (450 kW) or more. It will be able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) 3.5 seconds and cover up to 500 km (310 miles) on a single battery charge.
