By default, the Porsche 935 racecar ships with the Agate Grey exterior finish. If you wish, you may pay extra to have it painted a special shade called ‘Martini’ instead. But if neither strikes your fancy as particularly appealing, know that you will soon be able to order it completely unpainted. The latter option looks ultra-brutal, too!
Speaking of the car itself, it comes based on the 911 GT2 RS 991.2 chassis, but is NOT road-legal. It sports all-carbon bodywork mounted on a stainless steel and aluminum frame. Composed mostly of lightweight materials, it has a curb weight of just 1,380 kilograms (3,042 lbs).
The Porsche 935 sports numerous suspension upgrades that set it aside from the road-legal donor vehicle. There are rigid ball-and-socket joints, for instance, three-way adjustable shock absorbers, and forged pistons. Powering the car is the standard 3.8-liter GT2 RS engine, a twin-turbo inline-six rated at 700 hp (522 kW). It links to a seven-speed DCT transmission and takes advantage of a high-end cooling system.
The interior of the Porsche 935 is minimalistic at best, with the air conditioner being pretty much the only comfort-oriented piece of equipment inside. That, and the gear selector sports a natural wooden trim.
Porsche will be releasing 77 unpainted 935's priced around U.S. $1,000,000 apiece.
