Porsche keeps telling us about all the vehicles it had entertained the idea of producing – but never did, due to various reasons. For today, let’s take a look at the 904 Living Legend.
The idea of a compact-sized sports car emerged in 2013. The prototype vehicle used the highly fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain of the Volkswagen XL1, but the company later replaced it with a 200-hp (150-kW) gasoline V2 engine taken out of a high-end motorbike. In the end, the car could only reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds and was deemed not viable.
While the decision to abandon the project is understandable given the technical specs, we cannot help but regret it because of all the unreleased Porsches, the 904 Living Legend has by far the most iconic and memorable appearance.
