The talented car restorer team over at Emory Motorsports has successfully wrapped up another project, restoring an elderly Porsche 356 A coupe to peak driving condition. Rod Emory built the car for amateur racing driver Eli Kogan from Arizona.
The tuner redid the body from scratch, changing the design of the b-pillars and adding numerous gill-like air vents along with access hatches for the oil cooler and filter. The original 356 A Coupe had none of the kind, but the iconic aluminum-bodied Porsche RS-60 absolutely did when it shipped back in the 1960s.
Powering the gorgeous restomod is an Emory Rothsport Outlaw-4 engine, essentially a custom-built motor based on the Porsche 964 six-cylinder downsized to 2.6 liters of displacement. Mods include a new injection system, new crankshaft, individual throttle bodies, and forged camshafts, among others. A four-speed transmission hits the wheels with 264 PS (260 hp / 194 kW).
The rear suspension is independent, the brakes are reinforced, and new 15-inch alloy wheels come wrapped in Dunlop Signature HP 205/55 R16 rubber.
Crack open the door to see genuine leather upholstery, a safety cage, and modern components such as the steering wheel, the dashboard and the gear shifter.
