The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo has been designed specifically for Gran Turismo 7 and is thus the automaker’s first virtual sports car with no ties to real world prototypes. Nonetheless, the company claims it will be reusing its certain design traits for production cars later.
Michael Mauer, VP Design of Porsche, said that virtual reality was a more forgiving environment to design cars in, because there are no technological limitations there. Even so, the concept ride strives towards realism with its signature Porsche proportions and trim parts. Note especially the Taycan-esque air intakes, the headlights and the brake light strip in the back styled after that of the latest 911.
The interior gives off a Porsche racecar vibe while taking advantage of certain futuristic components, such as a holographic dashboard. It makes use of vegan-friendly materials and rests on a frame of titanium and compounds – if you take a closer look, you will be able to discern these materials in the game graphics.
Technical parameters have not been disclosed yet.
