Porsche updates logo

In continuation of its 75th birthday celebration, Porsche has revealed a refreshed brand badge – but you will have to squint to notice the differences.

The company claims a team of design and marketing professionals had spent three years working on it. The first cars to get the new badge will roll off the assembly lines towards the end of the year.

According to Porsche, the new badge brings history back into relevance by mixing it with state-of-the-art design features. Aside from just sketching up the logo, the creative team had a small batch produced that it tested in a large variety of conditions, including harsh climate tests in Weissach, Germany.

The shield badge became the Porsche trademark 71 years ago and has since ben updated five times, the last of them in 2008. For its time-proven classics, the German sports car maker still continues small-scale production of the older logo designs.
