Porsche celebrates 75 years of producing cars with Mission X Concept

On June 8 exactly 75 years ago, Porsche released its very first production car in history. To mark the occasion, the company has built a concept vehicle named Mission X.

The design department drew inspiration from the Porsche 917 racecar dating back to the 1960s. They even replicated the pop-up doors. Elsewhere, car received a carbon-fiber monocoque, adjustable suspension shocks, 20-inch centerlock wheels and an active aero kit.

Although Porsche said nothing about the powertrain, it did mention that the car is fully electric. It has two displays in the cabin, carbon-fiber bucket seats and a racing yoke.

Perhaps the most interesting bit is that the company clearly hinted at a production hypercar coming up later based on this concept. So far, we have learned that it would have a power-to-weight ratio of 1 hp/kg and support rapid charging.
