Porsche has released quite a few archived materials dedicated to its unreleased prototypes and design studies. Here’s another two.
The first one is called the Porsche Le Mans Living Legend, and it draws inspiration from the legendary 550 Coupe racer that participated in the 1953 Le Mans race. The design study bears the same paintjob and chassis number as the 550 Coupe, utilizes the Boxster chassis and packs an opposite-eight engine under the hood.
A year later, the company built the 919 Street (see video). The hybrid vehicle was essentially a road-legal variant of the 919 Hybrid Evo LMP1 racer, the absolute leader of the Nürburgring’s North Loop (lap time 5:19.546). The production car – if it were ever to hit the market – would pack 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and have a good change at setting the track’s absolute record for road-legal supercars.
