Porsche has opened the pre-order books for high-end trims of its 718 Cayman GT4 (shown here), Boxster Spyder and GTS models. These come at a premium of $3,200 - $3,700 over the standard spec and introduce a new transmission and engine.
The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine has eight cylinders and links to a dual-clutch automatic transmission in this version. Porsche does not provide any specific performance numbers or sprint times, but the consensus is that the new GT4 and Boxster Spyder should be able to hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.1 or 4.2 seconds.
First shipments in the United States will be made in early 2021, and pre-ordering will soon become available in Europe as well, Porsche reports.
