Gunther Werks has begun the production of a new limited car series titled Porsche 993 400R. Only 25 vehicles will be produced in a small factory in South California to be sold at U.S. $525,000 each.
The car design studio started with the regular Porsche 993, swapping its 3.6L stock engine for a stronger 4.0L unit capable of 400 hp / 300 kW (130 hp / 97 kW more than the former could produce).
However, the main highlight of the Porsche 993 400R isn’t the engine at all. It is the all-new, meticulously hand-crafted, all-carbon body kit. Gunther Werks engineers have expanded the radiator grille, installed broader wheel arches, and replaced the standard side skirts and rims with custom ones. They have also installed better engine cooling vents and a tall rear wing.
The interior of the car now makes use of various stylish accessories, flashy seat piping and lots of carbon and chamois decorative elements. Leather trimming in a variety of colors is optionally available.
