Porsche Cayman T / Boxster T almost ready to rumble

The Porsche 911 family received a new T (=Touring) model last year. The car proved so successful Porsche decided to release T versions of its 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models. Sales will begin soon.

Both cars are based on the Porsche 718 equipped with a 2.0-liter, 300-horsepower (225-kW) engine. They will be available with a choice between a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT transmission.

In their base trim, the upcoming Porsche Cayman T (coupe) and Boxster T (roadster) will feature lowered adaptive suspension (-20 mm / -0.78”), a limited-slip differential, the entire Sport Chrono package, 20-inch wheels and a sports exhaust system.

By default, the base trim ships without a multimedia system or steering wheel controls. However, you can order these at no extra cost if you wish.

The baseline interior finishing involves glossy dashboard accents and seat upholstery with red stitching. Then again, you can order a custom interior design if you want to.

Both the Cayman and the Boxster can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.1 seconds with the manual transmission or 4.7 seconds with the DCT.

Prices haven’t been announced yet, but the manufacturer says both cars will be cheaper than the base Porsche 718.
