Porsche showed us its 911 Speedster Concept in late 2018, and it looks like the car is finally ready for a premiere. Let us have a look at the detailed specs.
The Porsche 911 Speedster comes powered by a naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine sending 502 hp (374 kW) to the rear wheels. The maximum torque amounts to 470 Nm (347 lbft), and the engine can rev up to an impressive 9,000 RPM. By the way, the same power unit is also found in the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. Among other things, it features a specially designed throttle valve like that of the 911 GT3 R racecar.
The engine only links to a six-speed manual transmission, there are no options here. The Speedster goes from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and up to 310 km/h (193 mph).
The front fenders, the hood and trunk covers, and the brakes are made of lightweight compounds with the view of making the car as light as possible. As a result, it weighs in at just 1,465 kilograms (3,230 lbs).
According to the manufacturer, the newcomer will offer ‘the best driving experience’ in the entire 911 series. Production quantity will be limited to 1,948 units, so be sure to pre-order starting on May 7, 2019.
On a related note, Porsche Design has also introduced an exclusive wristwatch that only Speedster owners are entitled to.
