Porsche once again sets a record. Coupe 911 GT2 RS,
which became the most powerful model of the brand at the moment, officially set
a new record for the "Northern loop" of the Nürburgring among the
serial road cars. The time shown in 6 minutes 47.3 seconds was broken by
achievement of such models as Radical SR8LM and Lamborghini Huracan
Performante.
According to official representatives of the German
automaker, when the car equipped with a 700-horsepower engine was taken to the
start, the goal was to meet in 7 minutes and 5 seconds. However, the result
shown was a pleasant surprise.
An interesting fact is that two Porsche 911 GT2 RSs,
led by Lars Kern and Nick Tandy, participated in the races. Record Lamborghini
Huracan Performante was surpassed already in the first race. And the record in
6 minutes and 47.3 seconds - installed Lars Kern.
Recall, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS received a
"stitched" V6 volume of 3.8 liters. This "monster" can
accelerate the car to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, and its maximum speed is
almost 340 kilometers per hour.
