Porsche has released a video featuring a whole platoon of vintage and modern 911 Series cars moving along the southern coast of Thailand. While there is no official description, the footage is likely dedicated to the forthcoming launch of the eighth generation of the 911.
The first Porsche 911 came out in 1963. Despite decades of change and innovation, the design department of the German luxury marque spares on effort in making sure every new generation stays true to the visual aesthetics of the original 911.
The eighth generation debuted at a motor show in the fall of 2019. The sports car gained new features and tech, as well as new turbocharged opposite-cylinder engines now available with an eight-speed DCT transmission. The Carrera S and Carrera 4S both have gained 30 hp (22 kW) in the new iteration, bringing the total to 450 hp (336 kW).
For the first time in history, the 911 series will ship with such features as online satellite navigation and night vision. There is also the Porsche Wet, a feature enables you to fine-tune certain drivetrain and chassis settings.
Pre-orders are already open for the Carrera S and Carrera RS. First cars won’t hit the showrooms until next year, though.
