German tuner Kaege Automobile GmbH doesn’t make headlines often, but when it does it is usually something to remember. Just a couple days ago, the team took the wraps off another masterpiece: the KAEGE RETRO Classic Black 741.
The vehicle is essentially a restomod of the Porsche 911 (993) that used to be produced between 1993 and 1998. Kaege announced a mini-series of six such vehicles, and this particular example it the third one. But don’t be misled into thinking it is not unique: on the contrary, every single car has its unmistakable character.
From the outside, the vehicle looks like the 911 F classics – the same round headlights, smooth body curves and carefully placed chrome highlights. The cabin also mostly stays true to the retro theme, although a few modern details here and there stick out.
Another major accomplishment of Kaege Automobile GmbH is that the car weighs in at a mere 1,190 kilograms (2,625 lbs)! This is in no small way owing to the extensive use of carbon-fiber body panels and trim parts. Finally, there is no denying the beauty of the custom 17-inch, three-piece wheels with a shiny silver finish and the purpose-designed exhaust system.
Powering the unique ride is a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine capable of 320 hp (238 kW), which takes it from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph) in five seconds flat and up to the maximum 280 km/h (174 mph).
