German tuner Prior Design is famous for its superb body kits for such modern car brands as Porsche, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Mercedes, McLaren, Dodge, Ferrari, Jaguar, and even Lamborghini. It generally doesn’t do retro cars, though, which makes this Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (964) all the more interesting.
The unique restomod could be considered a celebration of the 964 Series’ 30th anniversary, but that took place last year. The project took around 700 workhours to complete.
The vehicle sports ultra-wide rear wheel arches, a ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the Carrera RS 2.7 vehicles from the 1970s era, a dark-red paintjob (stock, refreshed), and black gill-like air intakes on the arches and the hood cover.
The rest of the Prior Design kit is also black, including the front spoiler lip, canards, front air intakes, side sill extensions and aggressive-looking rear-diffuser. To prevent the red-and-black palette from getting too dark and menacing, the designers chose to fit their Porsche 964 Widebody with 18-inch Rotiform WRW wheels with golden spokes and high-polished rims. H&R coilovers were used for maximum visual appeal.
A look inside the cabin reveals black Nappa leather and Alcantara with red stitching for contrast.
