Porsche plays it dirty with a ‘Turbo RS’

Guess what car this is. A 2017 Porsche 991 GT2 RS, right? Nope! This is a 911 (991) Turbo S styled by Porsche itself to look like the flagship.

The German carmaker fitted the Turbo S with its big brother’s front bumper, hood and side skirts with only minimal adjustments to enable better air circulation. The ‘Turbo RS’ inscription at the back is a dead giveaway, though. The rear wing type is 991.2 GT3.

The wheels are a different story. The sports car rides on 21-inch Vossen GNS-1 rims with matte-grey finish. Techart springs enable it to ride 20 mm (0.8 inches) lower than stock.

Things do not stay stock under the hood, either. Thanks to the upgraded turbochargers and air intake system, the 3.8-liter I6 mill of this Turbo S pumps out 680 hp (507 kW). This is quite on par with the 700 hp / 522 kW of the GT2 RS. Later on, the supercar owner intends to surpass 900 hp (671 kW), for which a much larger upgrade would be necessary.
