CarWOW brings us another interesting video, this time putting an Audi RS5 Sportback up against a Porsche 911 Carrera S. Both are Volkswagen AG cars with 450 hp (336 kW) under the hood, but this is where the similarities end.
The team has tested the duo on a quarter-mile (402m) drag strip doing a standing run, a running start from 79 km/h (49 mph), and a brake efficiency test.
The Audi RS5 Sportback comes powered by a 2.9-liter V6 with 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. It also packs eight-speed automatic and AWD, and starts from £70,000 in Great Britain.
At 530 Nm (391 lb-ft), the Porsche 911 (992) Carrera S has less maximum torque, and its eight-speed PDK DSG only sends the momentum to the rear axle. However, the 911 compensates for that by being 200 kilograms (around 450 lbs) lighter than its rival. It costs approximately £23,000 more than the Audi, though.
In the end, it became obvious that the two share much in common: the time gap between the two amounted to 0.2 seconds, and the brake path from 113 km/h (70 mph) to zero proved virtually identical.
