Bisimoto Engineering has electrified enough vehicles already, but this Porsche 935 has been its most challenging project so far – if also the most rewarding.
The tuner initially showed us the restomod at the SEMA show in 2019. Throughout the long years of non-use, the racecar has accumulated rust and mold, and its body was damaged in a couple spots. Bisimoto still rose to the task and spent countless hours polishing and straightening the body until it looked factory-new.
The team then picked a custom body kit for the 935, which notably included a APR GT-1000 Dual Element Carbon rear wing and, a front splitter, and rear Gurney flaps. For its part, Andy Blackmore Designs gave the track runner a glossy grey-and-pink paintjob reminiscent of the Gozzy Racing Porsche style of the 1980s.
The stock 3.2-liter opposite-six engine was thrown out, making room to a single three-phase electric motor that could rev up to 18,000 RPM. The power delivery to the ground is estimated at 636 hp (475 kW), which may be 214 hp (160 kW) under the original, but the insane instant torque should largely compensate for this. Furthermore, at just 1,215 kilograms (2,678 lbs) curb weight, the restomod is light as a feather by modern EV standards.
