Car enthusiasts and tuners cannot just let the famous McLaren F1, with its single driver’s seat and steering wheel in the middle, fade into history. This Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe from 2008 is yet another attempt to imitate the legend.
U.S.-based tuner Trinity Motorsports Group is responsible for the build, which is called ‘911 Centro’. The new front panel is just a reshaped version of the old one with the steering wheel and pedals moved to the middle. The handbrake and the center console with its six-speed gear shifter now reside farther to the left. The Cobra bucker seat boasts new mounting points for a five-point safety harness. LED-based brake lights and a new body kit with an impressively sized rear wing round off the exterior image.
The sports car still comes powered by the stock 3.8-liter, naturally aspirated opposite-six engine, but the intake and exhaust systems are new, so a minor performance boost is likely.
The Porsche 911 Centro has 33,253 miles (53,516 kilometers) on its odometer and has already changed hands four times. It is described as being in a good overall condition with no accidents or crashes on record. The price is not disclosed, but the car is said to be substantially cheaper than the $110,055 USD of the brand-new 911 Carrera S when it debuted twelve years ago.
