RM Sotheby’s to auction off the last Porsche 911 (991) to battle COVID-19

The 991 series of the iconic Porsche 911 left the assembly lines in December last year, the final unit being a rare 911 Speedster. Now, RM Sotheby’s wants to sell it at an online auction.

The car, which belongs to the limited Speedster batch comprising only 1,948 units, will be bundled with a few valuable extras. The winning bidder will get a 911 Speedster Heritage Design wristwatch, an illustrated book detailing the production of the model, and a free trip to the Porsche factory. The latter includes the opportunity to hit the company’s test racetrack sitting next to Frank-Steffen Walliser, Head of Porsche Motorsport and 911 subdivisions, and Andreas Preuninger, Head of Porsche GT.

The German sports car maker will arrange a special event to hand over the 911, which will also be attended by senior management figures. All proceeds will be redirected to fighting the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
