The 992 iteration of the Porsche 911 sports car family welcomes its newest member: the Targa convertible, which only needs 19 seconds to fold and unfold its soft top.
Customers may select between the 911 Targa 4 and the 911 Targa 4S. Both pack the same basic opposite-six engine and all-wheel drive system, but the turbocharger and transmission parameters vary.
The Targa 4 gets up to 385 hp (287 kW) from its setup along with 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of maximum torque, whereas the 4S benefits from 450 hp (336 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft), respectively. Furthermore, the former is limited to eight-speed automatic, while the latter can be obtained with seven-speed manual gearbox.
Fitted with the optional Sport Chrono package, the Targa 4 gets from standstill to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) 4.2 seconds. Take away the package, and the sprint time rises to 4.4 seconds. The maxed-out 4S manages the same discipline in 3.6 seconds with its automatic gear, but drops to 4.4 seconds on manual. Top speed amounts to 289 km/h (179.6 mph) for the Targa 4 and 304 km/h (188.9 mph) for the 4S.
