At the L.A. Car Show which is now in full stride, Porsche has unveiled an updated version of its 911 model with the suffix “T”, which stands for “Touring”. Those familiar with the history of the brand will easily spot a reference to the sports car of the same name released as early as 1968.
The redesigned coupe received a model-exclusive bumper, 20-inch wheels and a new hood. As is the tradition with all sports vehicles, it ditched some noise proofing, the second seat row and the multimedia system. As a result, the new car weighs 1425 kg (3141 lbs), which is 20 kg (44 lbs) less than its standard counterpart.
In addition to the above, the 911 Touring has got an adaptive PASM suspension and 20 mm (0.8 in) less road clearance than its predecessor. The familiar 3.0-liter V6 with 370 hp and 460 Nm torque lies under the hood of the new Porsche 911 Carrera T, allowing it to make 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
