Hybrid version of Porsche 911 to be released until 2025

The renowned German luxury car brand Porsche works on a hybrid modification of its legendary Porsche 911. According to a statement made by Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, the new vehicle will enter the mass market alongside its non-hybrid version.

While the next-generation Porsche 911 debuts as early as 2019, its hybrid counterpart won’t be released until 2025 or so. The company is currently conducting research into batteries that would allow the vehicle to travel up to 70 kilometers with empty fuel tank.

The first full-electric car by Porsche comes to the market in two years. Its concept version, named Mission E, debuted in 2015 with two electric motors capable of a total 600 horsepower. Driven by these, the car could accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in just 3.5 seconds.
